The Australian Contaminated Land Consultants Association Queensland Incorporated (ACLCA Qld) is the peak body representing contaminated land professionals in Queensland. 

ACLCA Qld commissioned an auditor sub-committee (ASC) of experienced ACLCA Qld member Auditors, of which Christian Atkinson is a member, to engage with the Queensland Department of Environment and Science (DES) to assist them with the development of revised guidance, including the 2018 Queensland Auditor Handbook for Contaminated Land.  In addition the ASC has developed a number of ACLCA Qld specific guidance documents for the benefit of its members and DES. Guidance developed included:

  • Contaminated Land Certification Practice Guideline
  • Review, edits and additions to the Queensland Auditor Handbook for Contaminated Land
  • Environmental Authority and Site Management Plan relationship guideline
  • Site Management Plan and Remediation Action Plan guideline and template
  • Suggested changes to the Regulated Waste Amendment 2019
  • Residual Soil Criteria policy paper
  • Listing and Removing Land from the Registers Criteria policy paper
  • Defining the Audit Function guidance
  • Suggested changes to the contaminated land triggers in the Planning Regulation 2017
