Need to remove a site from the Environmental Management Register (EMR) – a government register of known or suspected contaminated sites? We can simplify the process and the cost of EMR removal, or alternatively work with you to achieve the desired development approvals as a managed site that remains on the EMR, which can do away with costly remediation works.
The EMR is administered by the State Department of Environmental and Science (DES) and is used by Regulatory Authorities to identify and manage land contamination risks, usually at the time of conditioning an approval for a material change of use or another relevant planning trigger.
It may well be the case that the reason for EMR listing is an isolated issue or localised area of the land, but due to circumstances has resulted in the larger Lot or any sub-divided land parcels to be listed on the EMR despite the real chance they have no contamination present.
We have the experience and capability to provide insights and all available options for any land on the EMR, and for any development scenario including volumetric Lots.
